The Festival of Ancient Sounds of Novi Velia, which will be held on 1-2-3 September, is one of the best known and most awaited events in Cilento. Popular music artists perform on the streets and in the town square, a few steps away from Vallo della Lucania. Over the years the Festival degli Antichi Suoni has increasingly established itself as an event linked to the music of the area. In fact, it attracts players of bagpipes, guitars, shawms, barrel organs and flutes from Campania, but also from Calabria, Basilicata or Puglia.
Of course, the food stands also have their weight in this event and in this town known for mozzarella in myrtle or scauratieddi (a typical Christmas dessert seasoned with honey).
