The Ciccimmaretati 2023 festival in Stio Cilento is scheduled from 17 to 23 August.
It is one of the cult events of the Cilento area, a real must that pays homage to the local peasant gastronomic tradition.
In fact, at the center of the festival are the ciccimmaretati, a traditional peasant soup, historically made on May 1st of each year by putting together all the legumes left at home.
The soup was a symbol of fullness and abundance. In this way, families kept hunger and poverty away from them.
